*Millcreek Community Hospital, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is currently hiring a Full Time Group Therapist in our Behavioral Health Unit.

SUMMARY: Provides individual and group therapy to patients on the inpatient psychiatric unit.
Assists the Director of Behavioral Health with development and implementation of therapeutic programming and overseeing therapeutic programming staff and social services staff.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Facilitates individual and group psychological therapies with patients on each of the inpatient psychiatric units.
* Completes psychological testing with patients within professional capabilities and as requested by treatment team.
* Participates in therapeutic service delivery as a member of the treatment team.
* Collaborates with behavioral health treatment team to evaluate patient needs and provide appropriate individual support.
* Documents patient interactions and group therapy facilitation.
* Develops and oversees the implementation of inpatient psychiatric unit programming schedules.
* Coordinates with community resources to offer a variety of programming options inclusive of various disciplines to provide therapeutic and recovery focused programming.
* Assists with completion of chart audits, performance improvement projects, and monitoring social service delivery.
* Participates in staff training programs designed to improve professional knowledge and skills that will enhance clinical expertise.
* Demonstrates professional behavior and interactions at all times with patients, family members, other professionals and staff.
* Assists with programming and staffing as needed at the LECOM Health Millcreek Community Hospital Partial Hospitalization Program.
* Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, or similar discipline preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in psychology and 2 years experience working in a BH setting required.
Competencies:

Sensitivity to a patient's emotional, mental, and physical needs.

Understanding of basic therapeutic treatment modalities and techniques such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and others.
c.
Understanding of strengths based and trauma informed care philosophies.
d.
Knowledge of therapeutic communication techniques specifically working with people with varying disabilities.
e.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
f.
Completion of annual Behavioral Health competency trainings
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/TRAINING:
