Company : Allegheny Health Network Job Description : This full time position will work daytime hours with on call responsibilities.
GENERAL OVERVIEW: Provides supervision of staff and area functions; serves as a physician liaison; and performs prescribed imaging and patient care services as per protocol.
Performs other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Positions patients and selects anatomic and technical parameters accurately to independently perform angio imaging per established protocols.
Prepares for and assists the physician while performing procedures.
Prepares contrast media and/or medications within accepted scope of practice.
(30%) Implements radiation and patient safety standards and provides technical expertise for development of protocols.
(10%) Completes all required documentation for procedures e.
g.
regulatory, billing protocols, and image distribution.
Charges for supplies and maintains needed inventory for procedures.
(20%) Assists in the management of human resources and non-labor expenses and activities for the department; maintains a quality assurance program according to regulations established by regulatory bodies.
(40%) Assists with tech scheduling, orientation and hiring of tech staff.
Performs all other duties as assigned or required.
QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Associate’s Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or six months to one year experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Radiography Certification and Registration American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) CPR certification may be required upon hire.
3 years as a Special Procedures Technologist, preferably in Interventional Radiology.
Preferred Bachelor's degree.
