Snap-Tite Hose, a leading fire hose manufacturer, is seeking a Truck Driver/Shipping/Receiving/General Labor for their facility in Erie, PA.
The company boasts a rich history in the hose industry, with specialties ranging from firefighting to agriculture, and prides itself on delivering top-quality products worldwide.
The successful candidate will be responsible for various duties including truck driving, shipping and receiving, and general labor tasks.
This is a full-time position that has a starting rate of $17/hr.
Responsibilities:
General
Understand the flow of work from production through the shipping department.
Understand the flow of goods through receiving.
Understand the production schedule.
Know how to safely and properly handle (and lift) materials and jackets in all areas.
Operate Machinery at an acceptable rate.
Have knowledge of hose product line and hose sizes.
Keep all areas, machines, and floors clean.
Have the ability to demonstrate skills to less knowledgeable operators, as needed.
Shipping
Have knowledge of hose packaging and proper marking for shipment.
Have knowledge of various truck lines and freight lines and the ability to identify best and most cost effective shipping methods.
Verify item and quantity of orders are correct.
Be responsible for ordering and maintaining shipping supplies, such as boxes, shipping papers, etc.
Be able to process international shipments.
Receiving
Be responsible for distributing raw material and returns from the receiving area throughout the plant.
Verify incoming parts and materials.
Notify QA of returned goods, and process return good accordingly.
Truck Driving
Understand all operations of company truck.
Complete pre and post inspections of the company truck.
Understand and follow all safety rules and laws.
Understand how to secure loads prior to transport.
Assume work duties in the shipping department when not driving.
Requirements
Employee must be physically able to work in areas so as to not harm themselves or others, and must be able to safely use machinery and tools.
Employee must possess the knowledge and ability to use the company computer system for generating shipping papers, bills of material, and for controlling material flow, open orders, and for making the proper computer transactions for receiving materials and closing out customer orders.
Employee must understand how to fill out all paperwork for all areas.
Employee must be licensed and trained to operate a forklift including, lift inspections, safety, connect and disconnect form charger, replace fuel tank, operate fork lift.
Must work well as a team.
Employee must be able to communicate with the lead, quality tech, or supervisor any issues they may find that affects the performance of the area, or product.
Employee must be able to obtain and maintain a DOT medical card.
