Workplace Safety Specialist
Full-time, Monday-Friday, first shift
Join our Human Resources team in this beginner-level administrative Workplace Safety position.
The Workplace Safety Specialist will work closely with the Associate Director of Workplace Safety in reviewing and implementing safety and security processes and procedures throughout the organization, processing and evaluating worker's compensation claims and assisting with related projects.
This is an excellent administrative opportunity for individuals who have a willingness to learn or want to gain experience in Human Resources.
Responsibilities for Workplace Safety Specialist:
Serves as first point of contact for workplace safety inquiries, and answers questions and concerns from staff.
Maintains employee and supervisory follow up throughout workers' compensation claim process and accident reporting documentation.
Completes data entry of all accident reports into the applicable computer programs.
Monitors and supports the modified-duty and return-to-work programs.
Supports Associate Director of Workplace Safety on projects and initiatives.
Conducts fire drills and various safety inspections
Qualifications for Workplace Safety Specialist:
Must be 18 years or older
Associates degree and/or prior experience in similar position, Human Resources or worker's compensation preferred.
Individuals with general administrative experience and a willingness to learn are encouraged to apply.
Strong Microsoft Office abilities and excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Ability to self-direct and manage projects, interact, and build relationships across the organization.
Good communication and organizational skills
